Finnish Shorthand Association 132 years old

Finnish Shorthand Association was founded the year 1872. Thus in 2002 it celebrated its 130th anniversary..

In the association there were 250 members at the end of 1966 and Föreningen Gabelsberger with an association member status and 12 members.

The mission of the association is to develop shorthand, to expand skills of shorthand writing and to look after the interests of shorthand writers.

To promote the mission the association e.g. publishes Pikakirjoituslehti, Shorthand journal arranges contests and organizes meetings. See e.g. the summary of the 125th annual meeting.
