The Purpose of the section shall be to enable parliamentary reporters throughout the world to work together to promote their professional interests and to encourage public awareness of the parliamentary reporters' work.

The section will work within the framework of Intersteno and will be bound by the rules and regulations of that organisation.

There will be a committee that will be responsible for co-ordinating the activities of the section. The committee will be the governing body of the section.
To the beginning of the regulations
The committee will consist of not less than seven members. In the first instance these members will be nominated by the Central Committee of Intersteno. It shall be the duty of the committee to arrange for its members to be elected. The quorum shall be half of the committee membership plus one. In the event of the committee having an uneven number half shall be produced by rounding up. The Secretary General of Intersteno is entitled to take part in the work of the committee.

The committee will appoint one of its members as co-ordinator.

The section will organize programs for the biennial Intersteno Congresses and will, in addition meet on other occasions, at venues that it will decide. At such meetings it will organize events designed to foster the aims set out in paragraph 1.

Parliaments must be individual members of Intersteno to enable their reporting services to participate in the Intersteno Parliamentary Reporters' Section. Parliamentary reporters whose parliaments or whose countries do not belong to Intersteno can join as individual members.

The language used by the section will be English.

The annual subscription for Parliaments will be DM 300,-. The annual
subscription for individual members will be DM 65,-.

These rules can be amended by a two-thirds voting majority of all members of the section.
